Many rigs, if not all, rigs will benefit from utilizing a strong and well designed sub-frame. Sub-frames may not be essential on many bikes but the up side of having one cannot be denied. If designed properly , a sub-frame, will not only provide the structure needed for the safe and secure mounting of a sidecar but will allow easier adjustments of the sidecar while enhancing the strength of the whole setup. This is a win, win situation. Flexing, moving or faulty mounting systems can be dangerous and will prevent your rig from maintaining it's chassis adjustments. A good sub-frame will give you peace of mind across the board no matter what bike/sidecar combination you have. We prefer to fabricate each sub-frame for what ever specific sidecar/ bike combination you have. Although this is not a total necessity it is a nicer way of providing the best possible system to fit your needs. It is best to call and discuss your specific plans regarding what combination you intend to build. To go into detail here is not fair to you as there are many options and details that should be discussed. Note that our sub-frames are fabricated typically with a combination of 1" and 1 1/4" DOM .120 wall round tubing with some areas being double walled for additional strength and security. Mounting points are determined to provide the best structure to the unit as a whole with no skimping on materials used. Frames are fabricated with TIG and MIG welding processes and are stress relieved prior to final mounting or shipping. Sub-frames are typically painted but can be powder coated as an option if desired. Chrome is also an option.
